It is during rest that change is made, said Lisa during our retreat.

And it was the biggest changes in the breaks that were more enlightening than the incredible yoga.

One of those moments was when I was listening to a story yoga teaching student Sonja was telling me.

I asked many people over the weekend how they came to be at the yoga house.

Sonja spoke to me about returning home from ten years away from Sydney, living four of those in Cambodia and six in Canberra.

She is a lawyer, working for the legal policy commission, particularly focussing on the legal rights of disabled people AND their carers.

One story as part of this was the giraffe and the raptor.

It is connecting these kinds of concepts with Mums that is so exciting for me, and developing actionable sessions where they can THINK about WHY they want to implement it, WHAT difference it will make if they do (WHAT is the impact), HOW they’ll implement, and what is the FIRST STEP.

I believe when we know better we can do better… and that we are exactly where we’re meant to be, learning what we are right now.

I hope that by bringing some of my experiences, it might help you find a shortcut to test out what might work for you, and that the why will give you something to test against your own philosophy or value set, because there are so many areas you’re probably concurrently working out right now. And there are some topics you want to delve and discover yourself, and others you’d like the shortcut on, so you can make a decision and move on.
