It’s a moment of heaven…

Bath. Quiet. Low candle light. Oils occasionally. Towel as a head rest.

Tonight it was actual physical therapy, as unfortunately yesterday I took a tumble down a flight of stairs and my butt took all the impact.

Thankfully I was straight onto my support team this morning and off to my acupuncturist first point of call. She got my concerning aches out of the way, told me it was going to get ‘sorer’ before it got better, I’d probably get some pretty coloured bruises then declared today a bath day with at least two baths.

Today’s medicine was ginger and salt in the bath, and in this instance I used Epsom salts to get a little restorative magnesium into me.

One of the most interesting things about my appointment this morning was learning a little more about shock and the heart meridian.

When I first walked into my appointment I didn’t think I was feeling too bad, aside from the tingling in my first two fingers on my right hand which was worse when I straightened my arm. But as I lay there, took some deep breaths, and was actually able to bring some awareness to my body which I hadn’t been able to when caring for my family, there were a few more aches than I thought.

Following an hour of breathing and treatment, my magician explained to me that my blood would be boiling a little as my body was coping with the shock of what had happened and my heart meridians were running the ‘what if’ scenarios for a much worse outcome than would have happened. She gave me some heart meridian points around my elbow and forearm to massage (and OMG were they sore!)

She also said I needed to remain warm, even though I might not feel cold, given that although I seemed warm enough, the body needed warmth and comfort to handle the shock appropriately.

Another interesting experience to add to my adventures!

And now for some rejuvenating sleep.
