So they say Gen Ys don’t want to be told what to do. Is this actually true? Is this a bad thing? Is this more about the person judging their approach, or about what the next generation of business leaders want?

Have you ever considered that their collaborative nature might be an asset? That they figure they’re stronger together? And they like to collaborate, use their rock star skills, and leave others to theirs?

I have been experiencing this lately in some client work I’ve been doing. And it’s been amazing to observe.

It has revealed to me a LOT about the way I build businesses, both intrapreneurially (internally within businesses) and entrepreneurially.

And I’m excited to have seen it.

You see though, what stands in the way of collaboration being powerful, and completely a waste of time and money and dismissing it as useless, is control.

Control and collaboration just don’t work together.
